Peg R. (Pasadena, CA) 06/14/2013

"My Bichon is a former patient of Foothill Vet in Pasadena. Reason for leaving high $$$ and little patient care.
Found Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital on-line with many positive reviews.
Monday 6/10/13,took our Bichon Precious in for pain & limping in right back leg and Dr.Stan Avezov  couldn't have been nicer. Dr. Avezov  examined Precious & took x-ray and showed how bad her hip dysplasia really was but also mentioned pain could also come from her knee. Surgery was needed and Dr. Avezov referred us to ASEC Animal Speciality & Emergency Center on Sepulveda in West Los Angeles.
Dr. Chow was our surgeon and a true pleasure to meet; examined our Bichon Precious. stating the pain is in her right knee not hip. Surgery was done the same day and Precious is home healing now.
Thank you Dr. Avezov for the referral and the drive was worth it.
We're moving to Seal Beach next year but will continue bringing Precious to you. Your honest, thorough & reasonable and don't close for 2 hours at lunch time.

Peg

"I moved here in March 2013 and taken my Senior cat and then last week 5/30/13 a rescued stray sick kitten. I've been treated with great friendly customer service, reasonable suggestions and treatment prices; and love the Feline-Only room. Lead Vet Stan takes his time to really listen. Even read through my entire Senior cat's faxed vet history of many multiple pages! I won't go elsewhere and continue to highly recommend to all pet owners!!!"

Alexia M. (South Pasadena, CA) 06/01/2013

"My dog started limping after a hike and I was so scared because I had no idea what was wrong with her. I searched on Yelp for the best vet in my area and Dr. Stan had the best reviews. I was quickly able to make an appointment that fit into my schedule. I just got home from Dr. Stan's office and was so impressed with his service that I HAD to leave a review. From the moment we walked in, the front office staff were so nice and caring and even offered a treat to my dog, Roxy. I only waited a few minutes in a large patient room before Dr. Stan arrived. He was very informative and made my dog feel comfortable which was a huge concern since she has urinated twice at another vet's office. He watched her walk and checked her joints and assured me that she was healthy, but overweight. He also gave her the vaccinations. I asked a TON of questions and he answered all of them without rushing me and never pushed me to buy any additional services. I signed up for the $30/month Platinum Membership Plan which covers my 3 dogs (: Roxy left SO SO SO much happier than when we arrived and I'm glad I found my permanent vet for all my pets! Thank you Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital!!!"

Adrian R. (Pasadena, CA) 05/30/2013

"Allow me to add my five stars to the many, many great reviews on here. Dr. Stan and his staff are wonderful. I can't add anything that hasn't already been said except to say that I've had some less than stellar experiences with vets in the past and Dr. Stan has restored my faith in the profession. His staff are also friendly and helpful. I can't recommend Pasadena Pets highly enough."

Feng Z. (Los Angeles, CA) 05/26/2013

"This place is simply the best! I have been to 4 pet hospitals in the past and  this one is easily the best. Dr. Stan is a very caring person. Unlike other vets, he often recommends simple/minimum procedures. As a result, the cost is quite manageable here. I had to leave my cat for a dental cleaning during one of the visits and Dr. Stan took me to the back to see all the kennels they use to host pets. They are very clean and spacious. Oh yes, in other pet hospitals, the nurses will call you to discuss any test results. Here, you will get a call from Dr. Stan directly!"

Jennifer M. (Los Angeles, CA) 05/08/2013

"Dr. Stan's approach to my 2 year old cat Izzy's vet needs is so refreshing, honest and educated. He is super informed and current on all of the medical info I need for Izzy and he is very mindful of the fact that we all have different budgets. He does not try to sell you services or products that you don't need for your pet(s). We love Dr. Stan and his professional staff!"

JP. G (West Hollywood, CA) 04/22/2013

"Dr. Stan is amazing. After going to a not-so-great vet office in Pasadena, my dog walker recommended Dr. Stan and I couldn't be happier. He takes great care of my pups. He is very knowledgeable, professional, thorough, gentle,  but most of all, honest- he does not try to upsell unnecessary procedures or products. Dr. Stan is very personable and he will make follow-up calls to check on my pups, rather than having a front desk person do it. He genuinely cares for the well-being of his customers. I now live 20+ miles away from Dr. Stan's office, but continue to bring my pups to him. The office is very nice and clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful, fees are reasonable, and there is practically no wait to be seen. Dr. Stan offers referrals for other pet services as well. Overall, I am very happy with Dr. Stan and his services."

Katherine A. (Pasadena, CA) 04/20/2013

"I moved to Pasadena in October, having two senior cats that needed vet attention.  I love that the vet takes photos of your animals and adds that to the file (likely to make sure mistakes don't happen?)
We just adopted a dog from LA Animal Control and took him for his "free Shelter exam", a service almost every vet in LA county offers, but not only were we able to get our new pup in to see the vet the next day, but Dr. Stan immediately noted that his neuter had been done strangely (which causes extra pain), a fact I confirmed with my mom (a super-volunteer at one of the best shelters in Michigan).
Dr. Stan called me the next day after business hours to let us know that the fecal test he suggested we run for the dog had come up whipworm positive.  After I said I'd make sure to pick up the medication on Monday (when they were back), he asked me "how far away do you live..." and proceeded to wait for me to drive there to pick up the already-prepared whipworm meds.
It is exceptionally clear that this vet does this for the love of animals.  He is straight to the point, honest, dedicated and very knowledgable.  I would recommend Dr. Stan and Pasadena Pets to anyone who needs a veterinarian in the Pasadena area."

May C. (San Gabriel, CA) 04/20/2013

"My pets are new patients here!
We had been to couple vets around the San Gabriel valley!!! This is by far the      Best vet around our house! Both of our dogs just had dental cleanings and some    other treatments.
Dr Stan always call us and email us to follow up with our pets and send us their lab results! He is really nice and caring!!!
There is always minimal wait for our visits and the staffs are so nice and friendly too!!!  There is really nothing bad I can say about this Veterinary Hospital...
If you are looking for a vet!! You should give it a try!"

Dolly A. (Pasadena, CA) 04/15/2013

"I went there last week to give it a try after checking it on yelp and I am happy about the experience!
I visited because my dog got infection after she got a spay surgery in a low-cost spay/neuter center, and since her wound didn't look good so i decided to take her to a better hospital and I yelped and then made a phone call tried to make a reservation. The front desk lady arranged me to come at the same day I called after I told her the problem of my dog. I appreciated that a lot!
Dr. Stan likes to get to know your dog and observe your dog. and finally gives good solution.
what i like the most was the Extremely friendly staffs there(and of course Dr,Stan, too). you can tell everyone just love animals.
    Highly recommend."

Kelly H. (Pasadena, CA) 04/12/2013

"Dr. Stan is the best! Him and his staff are always friendly and make it easy to ask questions. Today my little corgi Gizmo got something in his eye. I was afraid to get it myself and thought it best to bring him in as a walk-in to flush it out.  I didn't have to wait long to see Dr. Stan. He quickly flushed his eyes and did a quick physical exam.
I asked some questions  and then he sent us on our way. No charge!
Not once have I left there feeling rushed or confused.  (Like I have at other vets.)
He is definitely our family vet and will be recommending him to others. ;)"

"Dr.Stan is wonderful. He is someone who really has a great care for what he does. From the first time we brought Levi in he has taken his time with us to answer all of our questions and help calm me down regarding the breathing problems our 15 year old dog has. The pricing for a visit is reasonable as well. I think it is really hard to find a vet that is goo and Dr.Stan and his staff are great. He even takes the time to follow up with me via e mail to check in our dog and see how he is doing. I would highly recommend him as a vet to anyone with a pet but  pretty sure the 5 star rating speaks for itself."

Kate M. (Toluca Lake, CA) 04/05/2013

"I rescue dogs, so I'm in a lot of veterinary clinics. So much so that I'm the Foursquare mayor of four clinics! That being said:
Fellow rescues: Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital is the ONLY veterinary hospital in Pasadena that works with rescues and has rescue rates.*
Fearful dogs: Dr. Stan and his staff are amazing with the timid, nervous, and fearful dogs that we often encounter in rescue. Dr. Stan takes the time to listen to you, observe your dog and what the dog is communicating, and he is patient and goes slow. Many vets do not take the time and care to do this, in my experience. I appreciate the extra care so that I am not left with an additionally traumatized dog.
Domestic Zookeepers: If you have a menagerie of pets, Dr. Stan has several money saving health care plans and wellness packages that are well worth asking about.
Dr. Stan is very communicative and accessible. He is patient with questions and concerns. He explains things very thoroughly. I appreciate his kind demeanor with the dogs and myself. His staff is also very caring and kind. I highly recommend Pasadena Pets.
    * the term "rescue" here is used to refer to an established rescue organization with 501(c)3 status, not an individual rescued animal that is also often referred to as a "rescue"."

Fran S. (South Pasadena, CA) 04/03/2013

"Agree with every positive review Dr. Stan has received!!  His hospital is immaculate, well run, great staff and I love it that he gets down on the floor with the pups.  He is insightful, cautious and thoughtful.  AND he answers email!! He's the vet I've been looking for since I moved to SoCal!  Best vet in town!"

"For the last couple of years my husband and I have found it very difficult to find a vet that we both liked and that our furry babies liked.  We were fine with just taking our babies to the quickie vaccines given over the weekends.  Recently we noticed that our 1st fur baby, our boxer mix Cyrus, start breathing funny and having a nasty dry cough.  We decided to start the search again.
After searching for places via yelp I came across this hospital and we decided to obtain the senior care package.  We met Dr. Stan and we couldn't be happier with service he provided.  He is sincere, honest, tactful, and helpful.  Unfortunately, there was a mass that was found in my little ones chest and Dr. Stan was quick to provide us with a list of oncologist and to let us know that if there were any questions that he would be there for us.  We have since scheduled to get her thymoma surgically removed and Dr. Stan has been informed with every step of the process because he has not ceased to email my husband with follow-up questions pertaining to his new furry client. :)
The rest of our pack have already been scheduled to meet their new Dr. And I know that he will be our vet for the rest of their lives baring we don't have to leave Los Angeles.....
                                                                                                                    Thanks Dr. Stan!!!!!!!!"

Kristinne K. (Pasadena, CA) 03/25/2013

"I love, love love Dr. Stan!  I used to go to a vet down the street but with never knowing what  vet you are going to get it was hard, i want someone who is going to get to know my pup Tyler. It is very important since I lost my girl last March. Tyler had a lump in his throat at about 6 months Dr. Stan worked with me and gave me options on what tests I could do he did not push me, I told him lets go  as far as we need to and he found that he had a infection that dogs that normally don't get. Dr. Stan knows what he's doing and has a way with pets. Any time any one asks  about a vet I give them Dr. Stans name."

"From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you Dr. Stan. You are a compassionate man. Your kindness in the difficult moments of our Oliver's short-lived existence will not be forgotten. Because of your care, you have gained clients for life. Thank you sir. Matt and Alicia"

"I used to go down to a vet in Orange County that my family uses because of price and service.  However, after I rescued a kitten that had problems walking and visiting a 24 hour emergency hospital twice in one week, I realized that I needed to find a vet closer to me.  After reading all the positive yelp reviews, I decided to make an appointment here.
The first office visit was free but I was a little skeptical about price since I have had experiences with other vets who offer free first time visits.  They usually make up for the difference on other visits or pushing expensive drugs.  The price Pasadena Pets charges is a little bit higher than my last vet, especially teeth cleaning with anesthesia.  In fact, after comparing a breakdown of my last vet and Pasadena Pets' prices, Pasadena Pets charges almost double what my last vet charged.  So why the positive review still?  Although I paid a lot more, I noticed that the cleaning at Dr. Stan's office was better quality.  They managed to remove stains that my previous vet was unable to remove.  So I was impressed and I cursed less after seeing my bill.
After having several positive experiences I decided to transfer both of my dogs and kitten here.  Dr. Stan always called and even emailed me when he said he would with test results or to check up on all my fur babies.  After expressing some concern from reaction to anesthesia that my cat had after getting spade to one of his staff members, Dr. Stan even called me after office hours to make sure she was ok.  He is very professional and dependable.
One very important thing for me is the front desk staff at doctors' offices.  I've changed doctors or vets just solely on rude staff members since you interact with.  So far every person at Dr. Stan's office have been very nice and you can tell they truly care about animals.
Also, Dr. Stan has great hours.  He has late hours on certain days of the week for those of us who work.
One last thing, if you see Dr. Stan crouching down on the floor don't feel sorry for him.  LOL!  The first time he did that I thought he was tired or was having back problems.  It took me a few minutes to realize that he was trying to see my pets at their level rather than towering over them and scaring them from his human size.
If you have pets that are precious family members I highly recommend visiting Dr. Stan and his staff."

Tiny D. (Monrovia, CA) 3/20/2013

"I bought a deal for Dr. Stan on groupon based on all of the great reviews and I understand why he has such great reviews. I highly recommend this vet, he is fantastic. I will be bringing Miss Kitty back for follow up appointments. She was so calm and comfortable here and Dr. Stan and his staff were just wonderful."

"As a first time English bulldog owner, I did my vet research before taking Toby (my baby bullie) to Pasadena Pets vet hospital. This place probably deserves 10 stars, but Yelp limits me to 5!  Here is why:
Dr. Stan is exactly what you want in a vet: honest, intelligent, sympathetic, RELIABLE, and extremely flexible with your schedule. He's always available by phone or email to answer all of your questions, no matter how small.
We purchased the puppy package (which I thought was a great deal) and Dr. Stan administered all of Toby's vaccinations timely and carefully. Toby never even had inhibitions about returning for his next round of shots!
Dr. Stan also repaired a umbilical hernia and neutered Toby.  Despite scheduling the appointment a month in advance, we learned that we had to move up North at the last minute.  Dr. Stan was gracious enough to move around his schedule to accommodate us on a moment's notice. Both surgeries went extremely well (and were fairly priced).
As if that weren't enough, Dr. Stan also took time to look at a few pictures I emailed him of a small incident Toby was having after we moved up North (we didn't have a vet up here yet).  Dr. Stan give us advice right away without hesitation, and it saved us an expensive trip to urgent care!
Needless to say, Dr. Stan really cares about the animals that he treats, and he goes above and beyond what I would have ever expected a vet to do for Toby.  We were so grateful to have found him in Pasadena, and we can only hope to find such a great and accessible vet in Oakland!"

Val E. (Pasadena, CA) 03/07/2013

"Dr. Stan is a very caring and compassionate vet. He takes great care of my babies and was great when I had to put my beloved dog of 15 years down.  I give him 6 STARS!!!"

N.B. (San Gabriel, CA) 02/28/2013

"I took my loved pup of 13 years in this a.m., and everyone was so kind, so caring. Dr. Stan spent quite some time with pup and me, discussing her history and our lives together.  I marveled that he spent the time he did, knowing he had other patients waiting.  Puppy could not have had better care.  I signed up for the monthly membership, I was so impressed with their care."

Lisa D. (Pasadena, CA) 02/27/2013

"Dr. Stan, Cesar, Sofia, Sara and Bethany are all kind, compassionate and patient.  They even took pictures of my dog and made sure they were good pictures.  :-) Dr. Stan took excellent care of my sweet dog, explained everything very well and took his time with us.  Never once did I feel rushed or that my questions weren't answered.

I have to say the level of care at this clinic is the best I've seen in my many years of being a pet-parent.  Oh, and Dr. Stan is supporter of rescue and animal welfare.  Since this is a very important issue for me, too, I'm glad my kids' doctor is working towards a time when every animal has a loving home and no more pets are abandoned in shelters."

This S. (Alhambra, CA) 02/13/2013

"I took my baby here for a quick checkup and also to set up an appt to get her spayed. All the staff here were very friendly including Dr. Stan, he'll answer any question you have concerning your dog. My dog felt soo comfortable she pee and poop in the examine room=bad dog. Dr. Stan was very considerate and nice he  didn't mind, It was embarassing but funny at the same time. overall The facility is super clean and spacious, fast and efficient  and most importantly service was awesome!"

Steven T. (Valley Village, CA) 02/11/2013

"I had to put my red nose pit down due to a cancer in her leg and Dr. Stan with the staff made it very comfortable and they were all very sympathetic with my situation and though I lost a loved family member, they made a difficult time bearable. Its never easy letting your best friend go.
I also have a cat and we regularly bring her there for check ups and the facility is clean and large enough to accommodate all breeds. highly recommended."

Lisa L. (Pasadena, CA) 02/08/2013

"My 2 dogs went to Dr. Stan for the first time this week.  They had a check up and teeth cleaning under anesthesia.  Dr. Stan was wonderful.  he spent a lot of time with me and actually answered emails. he called me with updates and even called me the next day to see how my doggies were doing. I am so happy to have a vet where I will always get the same doctor, not the doctor of the day. His prices were reasonable on top of the great service.  Thank you Dr. Stan and all of his nice staff.  Dexter and jack are your new happy clients."

Valerie L. (Pasadena, CA) 02/08/2013

"Good job yelpers! My husband and I got a Chihuahua my mom rescued. She thought enough to quarantine her and take her to a vet near her to do a basic lookover. When we got her, we needed to find a good vet, and this is the place. It is very easy to get to, very easy location. It's right on Foothill, on the south side of the street, next to the Avon building, near a McDonald's, near the 210 bridge. They have plenty of parking. The inside is very clean, and there is a lot of room, and plenty of seating. We checked in, they do paperless forms (fill out on a dry erase, it's scanned, and erased), and got to see the doctor right away. It was seriously faster than seeing my own physician! The room was nice as well, simply appointed, and spacious. Dr. Stan came right in, asked us the pertinent questions, watched her walk, pet her lots, and checked her. He gave us recommendations for immunizations, teeth cleaning, and answered all our questions. Our Chi had to be weighed where she got her shots, because she was too small for the regular scales. She can be skittish with strangers, but she was very good for the doctor and all the vet techs. She even cooperated with her shots! They gave us a first time client discount, which was nice, and scheduled her second set of shots right there. I'd also like to point out that they are open fairly late as well as Saturdays, and have very good availability to see the doctor or get your shots or drop off specimens. They also do anesthetic teeth cleanings, which is a nice extra service. Very reasonable prices, very clean facility, great staff, great doctor. 5 stars all around, and I'm glad my dog has a great place for her medical needs."

Mike G. (South Pasadena, CA) 02/04/2013

"Came here after reading other positive reviews on Yelp. I had a very good experience and really appreciated the advice the vet gave me. I found his treatment regimen  reasonable, they did not try to push unnecessary tests or treatments, and the bedside manner was great. I did not tell them that I was a physician. This is my new vet."

Kaitlyn L. (Pasadena, CA) 02/01/2013

"I've been to a couple other vets in the Pasadena area, and Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital is HANDS-DOWN THE BEST!!!      First, their facilities are very spacious, CLEAN, and ORGANIZED, and Dr. Stan and his staff are very PROFESSIONAL and ATTENTIVE.  NO hanging around for lengthy periods of time in a crowded waiting area with anxious animals and their owners.  NO stressed and rushed interactions with the Dr.  And NO being told you'd better fork out $1000 for x, y, and z tests pronto, or else beloved little Skippy is going to die.
Instead, Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital has a large, open, general waiting room, and private waiting areas for you and your pet.  Usually my cats and I are seen right away, I've never waited for longer than 15 minutes for service (even if I stop by without an appointment), and I always am able to ask as many questions as I like without feeling pressed for time (and I ask a lot of questions!!!).  Their 8AM-8PM hours Tues and Thurs are also incredibly convenient for 9-5ers.  It's just NOT A STRESSFUL ENVIRONMENT unlike other vets I have been to and the SERVICE IS GREAT.  Dr. Stan and his staff also know all of their clients well and GENUINELY CARE ABOUT ANIMALS HEALTH vs. taking advantage of animal lovers' concerns just to make a buck.  Dr. Stan is very smart and KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.  No pressure for extra tests/ procedures, quick surgeries and recoveries, and very reasonable pricing.
Just last week I brought in my kitten who had quickly developed a nasty infection.  Last-minute, after hours, on a Friday night, Dr. Stan and his staff stayed to operate on her.  Thanks to this vet hospital I have a happy and healthy animal again.  And on top of it they took $200 off the operation bill because they felt bad I had to go through all this.
Definitely go to this vet hospital!!!
From an owner of two cats, who's on a student's budget, and considers her pets her bffs and next of kin. Seriously."

Krista B. (Los Angeles, CA) 01/28/2013

"I completely agree with people who give 5 stars to Dr. Stan and his clinic!!! I live kind of far from this pet hospital, but it's worth going here!! My cat had urinary tract infection and he was immediately taken to emergency hospital right at midnight. Right after that day I started looking up and searching for the regular pet clinic for my lovely cat since now he needed more help than ever. Dr. Stan took care of my little baby and he treated him very gently. I had never seen my cat trusting anyone else but me before!! Oh, and the free exam for new customers worked out really good for my budget!! My cat was examed and Dr. Stan took almost one hour to answer all my questions and calm me down because I was super worried, of course!! I paid only for analysis and medications. Dr. Stan kept in touch with me through the e-mails and phones. He's easy to talk to and never busy. That's what we all like: our doctor is always ready to talk to us in person and set up an appointment right away!!)))))))))
The staff is incredible, too!!! Lovely, caring, supportive and friendly!!! Thank you Pasadena Pets Vet Hospital!!! My cat is healthy now and I just hope that no more diseases are going to happen to him in the future!! He's saying his thankful MEOW to everyone who works there!! =)))"

Sage L. (Pasadena, CA) 01/24/2013

"The staff and Dr. Stan are amazing! I have been here twice and have since referred a friend to visit Pasadena Pets Vet Hos. We own two Persian cats, one 10 and one 2. We were taking them to the vet the breeder took them to because of the low cost, and medical history there, but it was all the way in Rowland Heights and we just didn't feel comfortable there. Let's just say we were getting what we paid for (hence the low cost). I've yelped vets in Pasadena a few times before and called around and just never really moved toward any one place, until our older cat got a cold over the holidays. The reviews here looked great and it was close by and they offered your first check up free. Walking into PPVH was a breathe of fresh air! From the first hello the staff was friendly, great, and knowledgeable. Even polite... I have to say this sadly because not all vet offices are. They squeezed us in right before they closed on a weekend. The facility is very, very clean; comfortable and calming. There are separate rooms for cats, dogs and large dogs. I felt ok letting my cats roam around in the room and hang out on the cat tree. Dr. Stan is very calming. He has a great memory when we came by the second time. He explains everything he's doing and gives you options if things get pricy. I don't at all feel taken for with him. You can tell he and his staff really are pet lovers. Dr. Stan emailed and called to check up on my cats and to send test results. My friend that I referred to him was out of the country at the time and her brother took her dog in to him. he emailed her with updates everyday, since he had to do oral surgery on her dog. even the receipt is great, it has your pets photo on it and a detailed report on the visit; its great for your records. Thank you so much Dr. Stan and PPVH for all that you do. You've made this type A, germaphobe, cat mom very happy and that's saying a lot."

N.T. (San Marino, CA) 01/16/2013

"Dr Stan is the best!
It was 4 pm on NYE, I was panicking about my 3 month old puppy's breathing.  I called two Vet clinics and no one answered.  I wasn't surprised, it was NYE after all, I was getting ready to drive to the puppy ER when I tired Pasadena Pets.  Not only did they pick up, but the Dr. was in the house!  Dr. Stan talked me down from my panic and made an appointment for me the next day.  He answers all my questions, takes time with me and follows up.  The rest of the staff is very professional and sweet.  The facility is clean.  I will be a patient for life."

Patty S. (Pasadena, CA) 01/12/2013

"I like the vet and service here and getting an appointment was a lot easier than the place I'd been taking my cat to.  I'll definitely be back."

Celeste L. (Arcadia, CA) 01/05/2013

"We got a German Shepherd from a friend. We are absolutely clueless on how to take care of her. We checked this place out from internet and gave it a try. This place is spacious and clean, plenty of parking, near 210 freeway in Pasadena. Dr. Stan is a very friendly person. You can tell he loves animals. He is very knowledgeable and will answer any question you have. We feel very comfortable to put our pet's health under his care. The price is very reasonable. You don't know what you (and your pet too!) 're missing if you go somewhere else!"

"Dr. Stan and all the employees at Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital are great. They have wonderful customer service and even more important, they are great with my puppy, Molly! I purchased the puppy package which included 3 exams, all her vaccinations, 3 dewormings, and 2 fecal tests. Molly was also spayed by Dr. Stan and I couldn't be happier with the results! I also have two birds and Dr. Stan even offered to refer me to a specialist in the area if need be. This is a wonderful pet hospital, highly recommended!"

"I adopted a puppy from the W. LA Animal shelter the Friday before Christmas and they told me to have her checked out by a vet within 3 days which would be Monday, Christmas Eve.  Not only were they open and welcoming but they were fantastic.  From the staff to Dr. Stan I was very impressed.  They checked out the pup, clipped her nails and removed the staple that was left over from her spayed surgery and did not charge a penny.  Me and my pup just found our vet for life."

"Dr.Stan is the absolute best! Don't go anywhere else. I'm at his clinic probably at least every 6 weeks. I have 4 dogs and 2 cats, so someone always needs something. He offers different plans where you pay a monthly fee for services. I have have the big plan. I believe it's the platinum plan. It covers all my pets for $30 per month. It includes unlimited office visits and discounts on their vaccines, some procedures, medications, file treatments, and a lot more that I don't even remember. Point is, this is extremely convenient for someone like me who has so many pets.
The best part however, is that it is clear that everyone who works at this clinic loves animals. They don't mind the licking and jumping and sniffing. Everyone there is so friendly and very kind to not just my pets, but me as well. And they are very personable. Love them!
Oh& Dr. Stan is very easy to get in touch with. Not like other vets, where you call them and you're told they're busy and they'll call you back but they never do.
Dr.Stan always makes time to take your call or calls you back right away. And he even emails with his clients. He's very good with communication which I think is soooo important since you're basically putting your pets health in his hands. He's awesome! & all my pets love him & his staff!"

"Absolutely love this doctor! He is definitely the most caring doctor I have ever met!! My cat absolutely loved playing in the room specially made for cats! Glad to know there are still good doctors out there not trying to rip people off!"

Lauren H. (Pasadena, CA) 12/13/2012

"Best vet experience ever!!!  I have moved around the past several years (in Texas, Europe and other parts of LA) and visited vets in all those places for my Shetland Sheepdog. The professionalism and customer service at Pasadena Pets exceeds all the other vets. Not only is Dr. Stan more knowledgeable (I ask LOTS of questions), but he spent more time examining Dixie and explaining things. The front desk staff is also organized and friendly, and they went the extra mile to get Dixie's previous records and forms. So glad to find a vet that I feel comfortable taking care of my "fur baby". Thanks, Yelp!"

"I made an appointment over the phone and was pleasantly surprised to learn that new patients were offered a free exam.  My dog was overdue for an exam--he has been itching nonstop and topical flea medications were futile.  I didn't know what to do with my poodle mix's skin.
I didn't have to wait long to be seen by the vet.  The office was spacious and clean.  The receptionist was really kind as well.  She led me and my dog into an exam room and the vet came in shortly to meet my dog.  He kneeled down most of the time and just let my dog get used to him.  I let him know that my dog isn't normally the nicest when he goes to the vet/groomers.  He observed my dog's behavior and discussed with me the possible issues that my dog could be experiencing.
Since most dogs, including mine--are normally very protective of their owners, the vet suggested giving him his exam in the back and his shots as well.  I waited maybe about 10 minutes and my dog was brought back a lot less frazzled than he normally is at his vet visits.  I'm glad my dog wasn't terrified after his exam, that was actually one of the great aspects.
The vet suggested several medications to put my dog on to help with his skin and then left the rest to the receptionist to finish up.
Overall, I thought the vet was professional, understanding, and kind to my dog.  I'll definitely be back for my dog's health care needs."

"What a wonderful place. Our Jack Russell was experiencing very bad allergies for a few days and it was time to take her to the vet. We're new to the area and wanted to make sure we found a clean, caring, and safe environment to take her to. After doing some research, we found Pasadena Pets on Yelp and found the reviews very comforting and helpful. Yelpers don't lie!
Sarah, the vet tech, was very personable and genuinely concerned when we spoke on the phone. She expressed compassion and was very pleasant to speak with. Upon arrival, we met Sarah and Dr. Stan Avezov and they couldn't have been any nicer. Dr. Avezov was great with our pup and she really took to him and Sarah (a rare occurrence!).
The first exam is free (!!!) and they're very thorough. Everything was explained in great detail and we walked out with a much happier pup. She got her meds and we didn't feel ripped off -- win/win.
To top it all off, my boyfriend left his wallet on the counter and we didn't realize until returning home. It was two minutes to six in the evening. I called back and Sarah was kind enough to meet us halfway just a few minutes later. Couldn't be happier to have found a great vet in the area! We know that our little girl will always be in good hands."

Mamasita A. (Manhattan Beach, CA),

"We are very pleased with Dr. Stan & his office.  We recently moved to the area and were looking for a good vet.  Our prior vet was also exceptional, so I believe we came in to this a little spoiled.  Dr. Stan has met & exceeded our expectations.  His service is, dare I say, better than our last vet.
After losing our beloved dog, we quickly got another one and wanted our little Daisy to have the same exceptional care as our last dog.  We got the puppy package & its a good thing, because our little Daisy has been fighting parasites.  Dr. Stan has given great advice, e-mails us her test results, calls us for follow-up & recommendations, and has her meds ready & waiting for us.  He even contacted a specialist to get more info as to why our girl isn't kicking the parasites.  I'm not even sure my last vet would have gone that extra mile.
I can't say enough about Dr. Stan.  He's taking great care of our new family friend & helping us through a perplexing bought of parasites.
We travel about 20 minutes on the freeway to Dr. Stan & it's worth every minute & mile.  After doing some research, there were no vets locally that I felt confident about.  I'm so glad I found Dr. Stan."

"We purchased the Livingsocial deal for a full exam and shots. Perfect timing since my puggle was due for her shots. I called and was able to get an appointment in the evening the very next day (they are open during the week until 8pm). When we got there and was greeted warmly by name. We filled out paperwork, got weighed, had some pictures taken (these were for the photo frame, i think) and waited for a bit while they finished up with another client. Went to an exam room and waited in there for about two minutes before the doctor came in.
He examined her. It was pretty quick, but pretty normal. She was healthy. He recommends doing stool samples and such, but wasn't pushy about it. Time for the shots, he took my dog in the back and actually administered (or held her, he had the scratches to prove it) the shot himself."

Kayla I. (Pasadena, CA) 10/24/2012

"Dr Stan and Pasadena Pets Vet Hospital is the best clinic I've ever been to. I recently adopted a dog from a shelter who seemed a little under the weather and Dr Stan diagnosed her and got her on the proper medication immediately. My cat has had skin allergies for years and years...no one could ever fix it. Dr. Stan fixed it with recommending new food and now my cat is better than ever! Pasadena Pets Vet also has a killer membership rewards program which I could not live with out having a dog with a chronic condition who needs special food and meds. Everyone here is kind, great with the animals, and give it to you straight....no over charging or having you do tests you do not need for your pets. I cannot recommend Dr Stan and the staff here enough...if you have an animal or multiple animals this is the place for you! Cab and Luna thank you Pasadena Pets Vet!"

"Dr. Stan and his team are incredibly kind and hardworking. After we made an emergency visit to him on a Saturday, Dr. Stan took time out of his one day off a week (Sunday) to interpret test results that came back from the lab that day. This was an invaluable service and meant we didn't have to wait until Monday to know what was wrong with our sick cat. We will definitely be using him as long as he is in the area."

"Dr. Stan is the best! It took us a year and a horrible infection to make the decision to have this procedure [surgery] done. I think we suffered more than Churrito. The day after the surgery he jumped on my brother's! Unbelievable! A human would not have done this. Churrito is a trooper and a fighter! We love him so much! Thanks again Dr. Stan! We are truly amazed and grateful! You and your staff were so kind, understanding and always communicative. You have us as clients for life!"

"We recently got a French Bulldog puppy, and were looking for a good vet in our area.  After much research on line, we decided to try Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital.  They were amazing!  They made me and our puppy Coco feel welcome, and answered every question we had--and being first time parents, we had plenty.  From what type of food, to training, to her shot records, all of my questions were answered and I feel good about bringing our little Coco here.  Thanks again Dr. Avezov, and your wonderful staff.  We'll see you in a couple of weeks for Coco's next set of shots.  Thanks for helping us keep her healthy and happy!

"ARF! We love Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital!
Our goldendoodle, Rooney, has been under Dr. Stan's exclusive care since we got him this past summer and we could not be happier with the quality of care and the facility itself (it's the cleanest vet's office I've ever been too). Dr. Stan is exceedingly kind and, most importantly, knowledgeable about issues affecting dogs (local hazards, GI issues, hygiene, etc.) He goes the extra mile and follows up on procedures and issues via phone or email and he spends a generous amount of time with us at each visit. If animals have any sense of good people, then Rooney can vouch for him too - he loves Dr. Stan! The front office staff is equally awesome; it's clear they love  animals and their work. I completely trust PPVH with the care of our precious pup and recommend them to anyone seeking a vet for their animal."

"We will definitely be back to Dr. Stan Avezov. He is somebody who takes the time to explain and discuss things, he asks the right questions and listen to your answers. more than anything, though, he sincerely loves animals and it shows. He goes out of normal ways to make your pet feel comfortable. That is what happened today when we took in our rescued, scared dog who, at the end of his shots session, even licked the doctor's hand. Great doctor and great person."

"As a new resident of Pasadena, I thought that looking for a Vet that is real and offers both holistic and mainstream options was going to be difficult. I checked out the online reviews and while most vets had good and bad reviews, Dr. Stan definitely had the best reviews overall.  Plus, their proximity to my house was without a doubt the biggest benefit with a very sick cat.  I found that the staff offered great service, great bedside manner and Dr. Stan is great with both my dog and my cat.  He also really listened to what I had to say before moving forward and offered me both mainstream and holistic options.  We love Dr. Stan.  I felt comfortable with all my treatment options and I also felt that the costs were very reasonable.  The follow-up from Dr. Stan also surprised me.  I don't believe I have ever had a Vet call and check up on my pet ever before."

S K. (Sierra Madre, CA) 8/13/2012

"Dr Stan and his staff are absolutely outstanding. We had our pup at several vets until we managed to find Pasadena Pets Vet Hospital. Dr Stan is by far the best!!! He has a great knowledge of rarer breeds and spends a great deal of time with the owners of his patients. After each visit we have had a follow-up from him to make sure everything is okay. Now that's good patient care.
The front office staff and his techs are excellent too. This was in sharp contract to some other local vets.
Do yourself and your pet a favor ...... Go to Dr Stan!!!!!! 5 stars all the way."

Jana R. (Pasadena, CA) 7/18/2012

"Pasadena Pets is excellent. Dr. Stan is a wonderful vet and so generous with his time and knowledge. We have two dogs who are like our children so it is very important for us that they receive the best care possible.
We recently had our younger dog spayed here and Dr. Stan called the next day to check on how she was doing. I really appreciated the gesture as it showed me that he truly cares about the well-being of his patients.
His staff is also very friendly, communicative and super efficient. The facility is spotless and conveniently located. The prices for services are very fair and they do not try and push unnecessary medications and treatments on your pets. I'm so happy that we have such a great veterinarian in the area."

"Dr. Stan Avezov and his staff are great! So friendly and caring. We have three cats and it is not easy to find a vet that makes them all feel so comfortable and loved. His office is clean, simple, and easy to get to. I really like the fact that you can make an appointment. A lot of vets in the area are walk in only and that is hard to do when you work!  Dr. Stan Avezov is an amazing vet and so knowledgeable. He explained everything and made suggestions when necessary. He really took the time to read through my cats previous vet records before we got there as well.
Thank you Dr. Stan, we will be back!!"

Leslie S. (Arcadia, CA) 7/16/2012

"I cannot tell a lie...if you don't find Dr. Stan Avezov to be the vet you are searching for, then you must be having a terrible day!
Sadly, my "ancient" dog (as Dr. Stan called her) recently passed on; however, before this happened, I brought her to see Dr. Stan after being treated uncaringly by my former vet.  He was caring and compassionate, thorough, professional, and honest, as well as loving, understanding and kind. Sensitive to her age and her various physical problems, he encouraged my phone updates and called me to inquire how she was.  Finally, I was so pleased to see the manner in which he respected my pet with every visit.  I appreciate all that he did for her and look forward to bringing my future pets to his facility."

Liam H. (Pasadena, CA) 7/9/2012

"We've found our permanent vet! We are so happy to have found this place. They give you a free new patient examination which was very thorough. My wife always has a bunch of questions when we go (first time puppy owners) and everyone there is always so helpful, professional and friendly. The facility is very clean. My wife is very picky and a worry wart when it comes to our puppy and the quality of his care and the cleanliness of the facilities. Dr. Stan Avezov is very attentive and caring. We would definitely recommend Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital."

Andrew E. (Los Angeles, CA) 6/17/2012

"I started seeing Dr Avezov several years ago and it became clear very quickly that he was the best vet around. I have two beagles and I credit their health to Dr Avezov.
All it takes is one visit to realize that being a vet and helping animals is more than just a job to Dr Avezov. He answers all your questions and makes it known that he is always available to help. He's very friendly and welcoming and easy to talk to. I've dealt with other vets who make you feel like you are taking up too much of their time, but Dr Avezov always stays until you are completely at peace and everything has been dealt with.
Whenever my dogs start acting strange, Dr Avezov comes up with a plan. He is not the kind of vet who throws out a big net and takes a bunch of tests and sees what comes back. After meeting with me and looking over my dogs, he comes up with a very focused plan and he clearly explains the objectives to me. He's looking to solve the problem, not run tests. I never felt like he was trying to waste my time or money. Whenever he suggests something, I have full confidence that it is the right thing to do for my dog.
For example, one of my dogs has a seizure disorder and when I got him, it was uncontrolled. His previous owners had tried diets, medicines, holistic specialists-- everything you can imagine, but nobody could get his seizures under control. Dr Avezov did. He knew exactly which tests to run and what to focus on and now Buddy has been seizure free ever since.
Dr Avezov is great and beagles love him!"

Matt M. (Pasadena, CA) 6/9/2012

"We've been to many vets over the years and Dr. Stan's practice is impressive. The facility is clean and Dr. Stan is really knowledgeable and thorough. He is really accommodating and volunteered to help with things that most other vets wouldn't, such as helping us find a cheaper pharmacy for our dog's meds."

Susan R (Santa Monica, CA) 6/5/2012

"Dr. Stan is amazing: super smart, caring, highly skilled and a nice man to boot.
The team here mirrors his values - humanity and veterinary expertise. They want you and your animal to have a positive experience and it doesn't hurt that it's quite a nice facility. My cat Tweety was cared for by Dr. Stan with kindness and competence. THANK YOU, Dr. Stan and Pasadena Pets !!"

N.C. (Woodland Hills, CA) 5/12/2012

"As a former co-worker of Dr. Avezov's, I must say he is one of the most professional compassionate and unbelievably funny veterinarians you could ever work with. He takes great pride in his career and in the well-being of his patients. It was always a joy to come to work and know he was on staff for the day!
Maybe I'm being a tad partial having worked with him but you won't regret having your pets treated by Dr. Stan, he truly is one of (and I don't say this lightly) the best veterinarians in the business today.
I am so proud of you Dr. Stan, you've come a long way from just starting out as a Staff Veterinarian. You deserve all the success and happiness in the world."

Ellen B. (Pasadena, CA) 4/27/2012

"Dr. Avezov is the best vet I've ever encountered. He is very knowledgeable and caring toward pets but more important is the way he communicates with owners in a clear and direct manner without pandering or being authoritarian.
I believe this is important; because let's face it pet owners can be a pretty emotional bunch!  Dr. Avezov is the caring adult we need when dealing with pet crises.
Recently one of our dogs developed a dental problem. Although we have a regular vet, we decided to call around to see what veterinary dental services were being offered locally. I spoke with Dr. Avezov and decided to check out his website. I was impressed by his background and experience.
Taking our miniture poodle, Sally, to Dr. Avezov was the best decision.  it's like we have a new dog! She's excited and happy all the time. She's  jumping and running around like we've never seen before. Our other dog doesn't know what to make of it. If Sally could smile she would be smiling all the time now.
We are so glad to have found Dr. Avezov and better yet he's in Pasadena, close to us. His rates are reasonable not super cheap but his work is quality and is worth every penny. He didn't charge for the first consultation.
We will be taking our pets to him from now on."

Anonymous Y. (Los Angeles, CA) 4/24/2012

"Just got back from Dr. Stan's clinic. I am so glad that my regular vet was closed and I found this place. He gave me a free exam because it was my first time there, and explained my different options for my dog's condition.  He did not try to upsell me on expensive procedures, and he cured my dog using a more basic (and cheaper) solution.  The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful, and I'm definitely returning back."

Lesley K. (South Pasadena, CA) 4/16/2012

"I feel so blessed to have found Dr Stan last week when I had a terrifying experience with my dog.  My dog had a sudden back injury (IVDD) at 600pm on a Tuesday and my regular vet was closed.  Dr Stan saw us right away and since it was my first exam there, the examination was completely free of charge!
He was knowledgeable, caring and professional.  We were referred immediately for emergency surgery and the surgeon stated that my dog Charlie has an excellent prognosis for recovery given how quickly we got him into surgery.
Since the surgery Dr Stan has followed up on Charlie, sending me information packets and even offering to teach me how to express Charlie's bladder!  (Charlie is still paralyzed and can not control his bladder yet)
I'm happy to have found Charlie a caring Vet that I trust!"

"I was searching for a Vet close to my home.   I had previously taken my cats to VCA WLA for my beloved cat with cancer.   I was referred to Dr Stan by Vets at VCA WLA.  I am thrilled with Dr Stan.  He treated my cat, Moxie and me, with kindness and consideration.    He is patient and takes the time to explain, in detail, the treatment  and results of the current treatment and future plans for treatment.  I have several other cats and will definitely will return.   Be sure to tell your friends who need a Vet in the Pasadena and surrounding areas about Dr Stan."

"I used to find myself numbed by the bewildering array of veterinary choices.  I was very disappointed about the vets that I took my pets to over the years.  I honestly began feeling as though finding a vet that is honest, compassionate, skilled, and affordable is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
It was such a blessing that I found Dr. Stan Avezov. He is everything I have been looking for in a veterinarian....professio nal, honest, compassionate, thorough, skilled, and pleasant. He never looked at me as just a client or my dog as just a patient--he took personal responsibility for my pet's well being and personally followed-up with me to make sure my dog is doing better and to find out if I have any additional questions.
Aside from finding a really skilled veterinarian, I was so amazed by the fact that I actually found someone who is also really genuine and ethical--and won't run any unnecessary tests that would rack up my bill just to make some extra money.  Dr. Avezov kindly explained all of my options and the treatment plan/course of action.  He took excellent care of an emergency situation with my precious senior dog.  This was the first time I encountered a situation where I really believed the life of my "baby" was truly in danger.  Fortunately, Dr. Avezov made a quick and accurate diagnosis...gave my dog a series of two injections in the office as well as a prescription for several days, told me to keep her hydrated, and watch her closely.  After Dr. Avezov's interventions, my dog was feeling better and wagging her tail a few hours later...
I thank Dr. Avezov for my dog's full and rapid recovery.  I will be forever grateful for all he has done for my pet.  I have recommended Dr. Avezov to all my friends, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone I know looking for a top notch vet.  I am confident that anyone that gives Dr. Avezov the opportunity to take care of their pet will be a faithful patron for life.  Dr Avezov is 100% the best vet...he is a true gem - an asset to the community as well as a God-send for any pet and their owner."

Lindsey M. (Castaic, CA) 2/17/2012

"Dr. Stan is the best veterinarian I have EVER had!!!  I moved to California from Boston, MA with my micro-mini dachshund (she is only 7.5 pounds) who has a history of ailments.  Prior to meeting Dr. Stan, Lulu had been to specialists for her seizures as well as many other smaller sicknesses along the way.  Once I met Dr. Stan, we never went anywhere else.  He gives the love and attention to Lulu that no other veterinarian has ever even come close to.  His knowledge, experience, and good heart are just a few of the characteristics that make my dog comfortable when visiting the vet.  It has been four years since we first started seeing Dr. Stan and every time he walks through the door, Lulu's tail wags and she runs right over to him!
Not only is he great with my dog, but he has always been thorough with his exams and follow ups, and is a wonderful communicator.  I have never had to call for results, or follow up with him as he gives prompt attention to each of his patients as if they were a member of his own family.
I honestly cannot say enough good things or put into words the positive experiences I have had with Dr. Stan - I hope this review, along with the other wonderful reviews, shows you how much he cares about his patients, and how much we care about him."

"We took our Dalmatian to the VCA pet hospital because our regular vet was out of town.  Our baby was in severe pain, but we didn't know why, she didn't seem to have any injuries.  Dr. Avezov spent a considerable amount of time with us and the dog, doing a thorough exam.  After a few tests it was determined that she was suffering from arthritis.  Dr. Avezov gave us some pain meds, and we went back to our regular vet with the info Dr. Avezov gave us.  Our vet told us it was not easy to treat arthritis and we would probably have to put her down sooner than later.
Instead we went back to Dr. Avezov, and he took a very pro-active approach to making sure she was on the right meds to treat her pain, and to keep the arthritis from progressing.  He understood when we were skeptical about acupuncture, but kept reminding us each visit,  never pressuring us until we were ready.
Between Dr. Avezovs amazing care, acupuncture, and alot of love, our Widgit lived her last years very happy, and from what we could tell, in very little pain.  When the time did come to put her down, we could not have had a more compassionate, and caring person by our side.  Dr. Avezov took the time to explain exactly what would happen, and it felt like we were with a true friend when we said goodbye to our little girl.  He really was a god-send to us during our final years with our Widgit.
Its been 6 months and we now have a brand new Dalmatian, and are very excited to visit Dr. Avezov in his new facility, we couldnt imagine any other Vet caring for our dogs.
We would recommend him to anyone looking for a forward thinking, positive, caring Vetrinarian"

"Dr. Stan is the best vet and an exceptional person! 3 years ago my dog had a severe back injury, and could not use her back legs. I was fortunate that Dr. Stan was the vet that was assigned her case in the next morning , and he called to give me an update on her status.  He was  took the time to explain all the options available,  so I could understand them, and helped me make  several decision during a difficult time, when my dog was seriously injured. Dr. Stan was professional, knowledgeable, kind and compassionate to my dog, and myself during this crisis.
I was ready to call it quits and convinced me that he could keep her comfortable and give her some time to see if the medication would work. It did. He has also suggested that I try pet acupuncture and recommended me to another facility that specialized in non traditional pet treatments. It worked. I am happy to say that Sweetpea is fully recovered and can play! Thanks to Dr. Stan!
Since then, Dr. Stan has remained her vet, and has helped her through many  non emergency medical issues,  has always provided consistent care, excellent customer service, and practical homeopathic suggestions as needed.  Dr. Stan has always provided me with options in her care, and has taken the time to show me how to better care of my pet. I am so sad to see him leave the local Pet Hospital, but know that he will be a great asset to the pets in Pasadena, they are lucky to have him! I have sent several of my friends to see him and they have always been satisfied with his service and suggestions!
So, I would highly recommend people to stop by the Pasadena Pet Hospital and meet Dr. Stan!"

"I travel from Costa Mesa in Orange County to bring my 6 year old golden retriever  to see Dr. Stan.  Four years ago when I moved to LA from Toronto Canada I needed to find a new veterinarian.  My dog "Eddie" has had special needs since he was born (gastro-intestinal issues) and has been on a special diet.  I initially met Dr. Stan by chance when I rushed my dog to the nearby vet when my dog wasn't feeling well.  As a very over-protective and passionate dog lover, it was difficult to find a new vet---until I met Dr. Stan.  Dr. Stan initially calmed my nerves with his gentle and informative demeanor, the way in which he spoke and worked with my dog, the way in which he conducted the examination, and then by his thoughtful and appropriate determination of treatment.  Dr. Stan has been the only vet I will take my dog to because of his expertise, professionalism, and the way in which my dog is treated.  I am a Ph.D. and cautious pet owner and Dr. Stan surpassed all of my expectations----I would strongly recommend him to anyone.  I feel very grateful to have such a wonderful veterinarian---there is such a relief of stress knowing that my dog is getting the best possible care and that we're in good hands with Dr. Stan.   Five stars--A+ rating for Dr. Stan....you will never find another vet as informed, educated, trustworthy, kind, gentle, and caring of your pet!"
